It’s time for some spring adventures. We’re off to Canada again.

The map and route of the Wapta Traverse.
Sean and I are doing the Wapta Traverse, a hut-to-hut ski tour similar in style to Europe’s Haute Route. The five day/four night trip will take us over and across the famous Wapta and Wapautik Icefields of the Canadian Rockies. See the attached photo of the map and route above. It should be pretty cool.

Fairy Meadows Hut, after the snow's melted. It will look quite a bit more like winter next week. Photo courtesy of the Canadian Hut Association.
And after we get off the Icefields, we’re picking up Christy and Joey and heading to the Selkirks– where last years Bugaboos to Rogers Pass Traverse concluded– to meet up with some other friends for a week at the famous Fairy Meadow Hut. I guess we’re just not quite done with ski season yet. Hopefully this trip will make up for some of the season we never saw this past winter. We’ll see.

Have a great time and I look forward to upcoming posts.
Thx Scott. We’re looking forward to getting away. I still need a bit more skiing to feel like I’ve had my “fill” this season.
Very cool. Have a great time. Looking forward to the post-trip recap!
Good to see the ski season lives on–somewhere. You are going into grizzly country so take good care with those hungry Mom’s and new cubs. There is an article on Cache Cache in the current Edible Aspen which you probably know about. Hugs to you and C. Rod
Followed your tracks out today (although we took the west / Niles ridge cutoff). Nice meeting you guys – get in touch if you ever head north!

Billy,
You’re a quick one. We barely got off the tour and you already found us.
Nice meeting you as well and please do the same of you’re ever in the Aspen area. I almost thought the exit yesterday was the most fun day of the tour. After a quick drive to Calgary to pick up Christy and Joey we’re now in Golden and flying into Fairy Meadows this morning. Hopefully the weather’s nice.
Nice to meet you.
Ted
