Subscription Issues?

If you are a subscriber but haven’t been receiving updates, For a reasons unknown to me, the subscription plugin I use went missing last week and email notifications haven’t been going out. Worse yet, with it’s disappearance also went the actual list of subscribers. I was under the impression, incorrectly, that regular backups of the blog also backup this list, which they don’t.

So if you like the email notifications please re-subscribe down at the bottom of the right sidebar. If you’ve been wanting out but didn’t want me alerted by an unsubscribe notice, it’s your lucky day, you’re off the hook. ;)

I can manually add friends and family but can’t do that for the others I don’t know personally who I hope would resubscribe. If you prefer a different type of subscription, try the RSS feed by clicking the icon (looks like a little radar signal) on the right side of the address bar. Moving forward the email notification list will be backed up independent of the blog so this won’t be an issue again. Thanks for following and sorry for the inconvenience.

I’ll leave this ‘sticky’ post at the top of the page for a little while.

  • Ted – you might want to switch over to http://www.MailChimp.com. It’s free to setup an email list with fewer than 500 people, and they have a great plugin for WordPress that makes signing up easy. I use it for my blog and it works great. Sorry about your list – I am always paranoid of losing data and back everything up multiple times (the life of an anal weatherman, I suppose).
